reunited...

My computer and the internet are finally speaking again. It's been a long couple of weeks. Just some of my favorite Jules images from the past little while.

She's turned into a rolling inchworm, had a bit of fresh peach, found her toes, and started giggling more.

Juliana stats

Had a 4 month visit yesterday. She's right on track and above developmentally wise,
13 lbs and 25 inches long .... we really thought she would weigh more judging from all those chub rolls she's got going on!
She started rolling from back to front too.
No pictures until I get my computer set back up...

the shot

Does everybody have a baby picture like this? I know on my bookshelves I happen to have two remarkably similar ones. All equally beautiful, of course.

We have....

Carrots!!! Obviously ;)
I do hope you didn't think I was going to say "job" or "a place to live". Livelihood? Shelter? Nope, but we do have produce!

Help!

I really need to get zen like with this new camera before I can start shooting for pay again. And honestly I just need some practice, I'm a little rusty. If you'd like to be a willing victim, err I mean practice subject, give me a call or shoot me an email. Or even if you know somebody that knows somebody in need of some portraits, get in touch! We can do some images on disk or work something out for compensation, thanks!

I made this?

and this?

You'd think I'd be used to it by now. Or maybe annoyed at the funny bribery induced faces as I try to figure this new camera out. But sometimes I open up a shot and still marvel.

P.S.

They don't smother with affection all the time. And sometimes she's not even scared. It must be hard to be so loved.

the best sisters shot ever

Poor Juliana!

In the kitchen

Take one whiny little girl, add a new mama made headband and one very mismatched outfit that didn't have to be changed. Mix cookie dough, eat, repeat then bake. And you get this. One happy posie girl.

Julianas room

JuJu loves the birdy bedding her Mimi made for her.
It's so cozy she fell asleep right away, even as I was blinding her with my flash. Of course that's not saying a whole lot since she really will sleep anywhere - the other day at the lake beach, she slept in Nathans arms for a good 30 minutes - while Nate was actually in the water. Seriously, she was like half submerged with wailing kids all around her. Amazing.
So I was supposed to be taking pictures to share of the cuteness that is her room but when I pulled these up on the computer I realized something. I got a wee bit distracted by the cuteness inside the crib and didn't actually get much of her bedding and room.

Famous Girlies

When we were living in the Little Yellow House, I had the opportunity to hang out with some wonderful women in Chattanooga through the area API group(a support group for Attachment Parenting International). I did a session for one of them and she ended up giving my name to some people who were writing a parenting book. That book was recently published and since I had no idea what images they were going to use I was so tickeled while flipping through the book to find a picture of the girls! I just put that one in because, well, I'm a Mom. It wasn't really what they were asking for but it's one of my favorite pictures of them. I've got several other images in the book but I'm of course most excited about my girls.

Ta Da! Check it out if you get the chance - Attached at the Heart by Barbara Nicholson and Lysa Parker.

I had to show this becaue it's what was going on while I was trying to take the close up. It doesn't get a whole lot more AP than that. ;)

lately we've...

been enjoying the heat,
finding some comfort
and whining a lot!
But we're good, just didn't want you to think we were gone for good.

It'll do.

She doesn't like this house, it's "scary and the yard is hot and it has bugs". Really? Cause I remember those acres we left being pretty darn buggy. I know what she means though. There will never be another yard as wonderful as the one we left, you just can't replace the shade 100 year old pecan trees or the freedom of a field out in the country. It was magical and we've definitely been mourning. I realized just how much the other day as we all hung out after Nate got home. It's the first time in over six months that I've actually sat on a blanket in the yard while they played and not been detached and separated by the concrete. It was nice. And while the neighbors doing yard work was highly annoying I was able to ignore it and enjoy just watching my girls. And it sure beats the card board box we could be living in soon. He hee. Should I even joke about that? Probably poor taste but we have to laugh about it, right?

evie, rosie? who are they?

Can I help it if she's stolen my heart?
Seriously though, I've got like 300 pictures I need to go through. From R's bday to Amy's visit and Nates bday but none are as fun my smiley girl. Well, maybe Eamon in a tutu or Daddy and Evie riding their scooters together or Rosie twirling in the grass .... I just need to stop moping around!

I really hope you're not tired of baby Jules pictures yet. Because well, I don't know that I'm ever going to get tired of capturing this sweet baby girl. Nathan and I had just alone this weekend and it was such a treat to bask in just babyness and not have our usual circus going.
We tried so hard to capture a smile but she just doesn't like it when i have the camera in my face, I still love these though!

Juliana 9 weeks

She had a check up last Friday. 11 lbs 12.8 oz and 23 1/4 inches.
She is rolling over from front to back and loves to stand up on your lap. She got in the jumper for the first time yesterday. She's got some amazing smiles and will wiggle her body in excitement if she recognizes you. She also started to bat at toys hanging up in her car seat.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane?

No. It's super baby!
And her super sisters.

camping on the hottest weekend of spring while mam has a cold - with a 6 week old

It was so blasted hot the weekend we went. Except for sunday morning at breakfast, I love the pullovers and nightgowns. This was a couple of weekends ago, a sort of frantic, spur of the moment trip that led to much driving around looking for a place to sleep. We ended up in an army corps campground that was pretty lame. Just a little beach, no trails or fun things to do. The site was a really small patch of land mostly taken up with the parking pad and a monstrous pebble gravel parking pad. Ask the girls about it and they'll tell you it was the best trip ever. I so wish I could have a kids outlook again!
2nd trip of the morning to the potty.
3rd trip of the morning to the potty
the only fishing we did
Feeling a little lazy this a.m. - you can turn your head, right?
Daddy cooking bfast. Or the reason why Mama had to walk girls to the bathroom 3 times in 20 minutes.
Mmm smores! They almost made the whole weekend worthwhile.
She can nap anywhere!
It's boring here.... I agree girls! Next time we'll go somewhere better!
