just a little stubborn

This girl of mine is determined. Very determined. Take this afternoon. She did not want her picture taken. She wanted to be out playing in the spring air with her sisters.

See... "seriously mom?" She's done. I hadn't even started.
"I will get off this chair"
"I don't care if it matches my outfit or if my foot is stuck"
FREEDOM!

where does she get it?

trying to take juju pics and the older two wouldn't stop hamming long enough to let me get her alone. that's definitely not from me.

again , not from me. she's consistently hitting the ball. she would like her auntie sara to come play with her because her mama stinks.
p.s. i am fully aware where they get it from. and i do love him dearly.

Meet the bunnies.

Yep. We were those parents this year. In our (my?) defense we needed a pet and we've been waiting since we closed on the house. They're house bunnies and would you believe me if I told you they're already using a litter box? How bizarre is that? Right now they're in the living room in a cage and they get the run of the room a couple times a day. As soon as we're done with our school room (it's got carpet and that needs to go before we have bunny mess in there) we'll build them a bunny condo and install them in there. They're still getting used to us but they're getting more and more adventurous everyday. They tear around the living room in circles and hop up on our selves - so cute to watch. Juliana is scared of them though which is quite hysterical since they're itty bitty dwarf rabbits and they look like a ball of fluff.

The egg hunt

We did things a little different this year. I was delighted to find out our local Catholic community has a sunrise mass. I do love a good god celebration out in his glory. So we set the alarm and headed up to Monte Sano state park at gulp 6:00. It's held at one of the overlooks and I knew we'd be putting the girls in the car pretty much still asleep and then we'd be sitting on a blanket on the ground in the semi-cold so we saved our Easter finery for dining later in the day. After mass we ate breakfast out and waited on the Easter bunny to come. Miraculously just as we pulled into the drive Mimi and Papa showed up too. Isn't it amazing how things work? Stay tuned to find out what else the Easter bunny left behind...

would you like a table with your table?

Alternate title: Who is this grown child in my back yard being strange and eating a picnic at a table on top of the picnic table.

the big day

We weren't going to have a party. It wasn't really a real party. Just family. Thanks to my bham people that wanted to come I was forced into celebrating instead of moping. The girls and nate and I had so much fun during the week creating stuff for her and her big day. I realize as I'm posting these that I missed much of that. We made felted eggs and a funny doll. We folded huge pompoms and painted recycled flowers. We decorated, cleaned, used two rolls of tape to wrap presents and picked the first spring flowers for our birthday girl who we welcomed so joyously one year ago on the first day of spring in 2009.

let's try this again

Taken a couple of weeks ago. And much more fun than her non smash birthday cake eating which I am still avoiding posting on the hopes of pretending it didn't happen. I was just putting this one up so you can see her teeth. That other top one is finally coming in, I'll miss that one tooth grin! This one has an accompanying video of her using a spoon but again technology is out to get me today.

not her birthday

I realize there is no picture. And I have no idea why. Let's hope it's on bloggers end and that it will magically be fixed if I just wait until tomorrow(this is how I approach much in life, sadly it rarely works). Because I've been posting pictures the same way for three years now and I have no idea what I might have done wrong. I'm not deleting because it's already feeding into the readers and I want you guys to know that I'm trying. I really am!

Do you even see the header? Because I'm not.

***it's fixed so just ignore all of the above. it was apparantly blogger. woot**

jump!

Let her jump on the trampoline while so I could play with a flash bounce card I made. Turned them black and white so all the junk in the back isn't quite as obvious. But now you know I'm not lying when I say the house is(was?) a disastrous wreck. It's looking much better - more like a home! after a good solid mimi visit this week. A lot of elbow grease but oh so worth it! Things are hung on walls (that are finally finished being painted!) and book shelves are up and stuff is put away.
Wish I could ave captured er trying to jump and then back off the tramp. She had a little system going on. Jump, sit, back off, repeat.

cowgirl

Mimi took E to a rodeo! I took these just before they left. Mimi has some on her camera from at the rodeo - her face was all grin the entire time.

sisters captured

Reminding myself. Most days they do more than fight.

Walking?

She's been walking for such awhile that it seems funny to even mention it now. Remember the video I posted that said she was teaching herself? Popping up and down lasted maybe a week and then it was on to cruising around. She's running at this point!

Teeth!

They were just starting to show in these pics. Took them a week or so ago? I thought it was just the bottom two but a couple of days ago I happened to notice the top left had broken through as well. Poor baby! No wonder she was such a fuss pot for a while. She's been back to her usual sunny self the last couple of days.

Snow'd in

But that's not an excuse for no posts. Not having working computer to get pictures off the camera or any sort of software to get pictures to the web is a pretty good excuse. Nathan bought me a new monitor for Christmas and whilst installing it he managed to destroy our computer. Luckily my most generous and wonderful brother in law Weston offered up a mother board and his equally wonderful wife Allison got it in the mail to us. So big, big thanks to them. Many late nights later Nate has got everything up and running! And he did indeed have everything backed up like he promised. Funnily enough I just figured out that I could have done a free trial of a software on the laptop. Whoops! Because boy do I have a lot to catch up on. Birthdays, snow, teeth, walking, holidays...
