would you like a table with your table?

Alternate title: Who is this grown child in my back yard being strange and eating a picnic at a table on top of the picnic table.

the big day

We weren't going to have a party. It wasn't really a real party. Just family. Thanks to my bham people that wanted to come I was forced into celebrating instead of moping. The girls and nate and I had so much fun during the week creating stuff for her and her big day. I realize as I'm posting these that I missed much of that. We made felted eggs and a funny doll. We folded huge pompoms and painted recycled flowers. We decorated, cleaned, used two rolls of tape to wrap presents and picked the first spring flowers for our birthday girl who we welcomed so joyously one year ago on the first day of spring in 2009.

let's try this again

Taken a couple of weeks ago. And much more fun than her non smash birthday cake eating which I am still avoiding posting on the hopes of pretending it didn't happen. I was just putting this one up so you can see her teeth. That other top one is finally coming in, I'll miss that one tooth grin! This one has an accompanying video of her using a spoon but again technology is out to get me today.

not her birthday

I realize there is no picture. And I have no idea why. Let's hope it's on bloggers end and that it will magically be fixed if I just wait until tomorrow(this is how I approach much in life, sadly it rarely works). Because I've been posting pictures the same way for three years now and I have no idea what I might have done wrong. I'm not deleting because it's already feeding into the readers and I want you guys to know that I'm trying. I really am!

Do you even see the header? Because I'm not.

***it's fixed so just ignore all of the above. it was apparantly blogger. woot**

jump!

Let her jump on the trampoline while so I could play with a flash bounce card I made. Turned them black and white so all the junk in the back isn't quite as obvious. But now you know I'm not lying when I say the house is(was?) a disastrous wreck. It's looking much better - more like a home! after a good solid mimi visit this week. A lot of elbow grease but oh so worth it! Things are hung on walls (that are finally finished being painted!) and book shelves are up and stuff is put away.
Wish I could ave captured er trying to jump and then back off the tramp. She had a little system going on. Jump, sit, back off, repeat.

cowgirl

Mimi took E to a rodeo! I took these just before they left. Mimi has some on her camera from at the rodeo - her face was all grin the entire time.

sisters captured

Reminding myself. Most days they do more than fight.

Walking?

She's been walking for such awhile that it seems funny to even mention it now. Remember the video I posted that said she was teaching herself? Popping up and down lasted maybe a week and then it was on to cruising around. She's running at this point!

Teeth!

They were just starting to show in these pics. Took them a week or so ago? I thought it was just the bottom two but a couple of days ago I happened to notice the top left had broken through as well. Poor baby! No wonder she was such a fuss pot for a while. She's been back to her usual sunny self the last couple of days.

Snow'd in

But that's not an excuse for no posts. Not having working computer to get pictures off the camera or any sort of software to get pictures to the web is a pretty good excuse. Nathan bought me a new monitor for Christmas and whilst installing it he managed to destroy our computer. Luckily my most generous and wonderful brother in law Weston offered up a mother board and his equally wonderful wife Allison got it in the mail to us. So big, big thanks to them. Many late nights later Nate has got everything up and running! And he did indeed have everything backed up like he promised. Funnily enough I just figured out that I could have done a free trial of a software on the laptop. Whoops! Because boy do I have a lot to catch up on. Birthdays, snow, teeth, walking, holidays...

a new trick

She's teaching herself to walk, it's quite interesting to witness. I love the look of pride and joy she gets on her face when she makes those little legs do what she wants.

merry christmas to me! and you too...

I bought myself a flip video recorder for Christmas. It's digital or something - basically an idiot proof way to record home videos. So now I'll get to put up video snippets of the girls for you to see! Remind me not to complain about things - I've been whining about the state of the house and my kitchen. I just got back from a girls weekend and this is how I found my kitchen, it's in both videos. I suppose a hobbled together kitchen with no stove was better than no kitchen! I also need to learn to not talk to myself while using it!

sup?

Not sure if she's saying hey or all hail juju but this is her version of a wave. And you'd better darn well respond in kind.

Thanksgiving '09

I keep rewriting this in me head and there is just no good way to describe how this years day was tinged with sadness but a wnderful holiday too. Our hearts ached for family that we missed and family that we never even got to know but at the same time Grandma's legacy wouldn't let me not be thankful for all that we've been blessed with. It was a lovely fall day and we enjoyed a delicious dinner with Mimi and Papa. The drive down to their house was a relaxing break from the disaster that is our house and as always the girls had a blast outside with the puppers and got to do cool things (I never know exactly what they're up too) with their beloved Uncle Josh. The sweet potatoes were the favorite of both Juju and Rosie too who kept eating the marshmallows off the top and exclaiming " mmm these sweet potato's are soo good"!

"I'm pinky pie and this is candy cane " ...."so go to my website ..... dot com"

Part of back seat dialogue heard coming home from church.
It was incredibly funny and we don't want to forget. I so wish I'd had a recorder to get it all.
I think pinky pie and candy cane are my little ponies .... the funniest part was the dot com because that was the whole web site name. Maybe you just had to be there?

Seriously, snow?

In Huntsville? And it's not even really winter. We let Juliana touch it and she cried. Of course I took a picture but I can't decide if it's funny or just mean.
Oh and all my northern family, please stop laughing now. It's white so it counts.
