friends... just some snapshots

We got the chance to visit some dear friends that live very far away, we've been trying to get the for years now so this was an especially joyful trip. Juliana was learning to sit up so she was hanging out on the picnic table (she's pulling up now!)

It's been awhile. Can you handle it?

The cuteness, oh the cuteness! Juliana turned 6 months this week. She's been crawling for a couple of weeks now and is trying to pull up. I keep telling her to stop but it's just not working. She figured out how to sit up, crawl and sit up up from a crawl all within a couple of days - whew. It didn't even really give me any time to get pictures of her sitting up - she can escape now. She's working on getting things with her thumb and finger and really just watching us intently. I wish I could capture the serious focused look she gets when we clap or do something she so obviously wants to do. She's definitely a fun age right now, the girls are loving being able to crawl around and play with her.
p.s. the internet at our temporary place is insufferably slow. Hopefully I can play catch up later because this place is seriously lacking in big girl pictures. I just couldn't let a half birthday go by with out a post

My computer and the internet are finally speaking again. It's been a long couple of weeks. Just some of my favorite Jules images from the past little while.

She's turned into a rolling inchworm, had a bit of fresh peach, found her toes, and started giggling more.

Juliana stats

Had a 4 month visit yesterday. She's right on track and above developmentally wise,
13 lbs and 25 inches long .... we really thought she would weigh more judging from all those chub rolls she's got going on!
She started rolling from back to front too.
No pictures until I get my computer set back up...

Does everybody have a baby picture like this? I know on my bookshelves I happen to have two remarkably similar ones. All equally beautiful, of course.

I really need to get zen like with this new camera before I can start shooting for pay again. And honestly I just need some practice, I'm a little rusty. You'd think I'd be used to it by now. Or maybe annoyed at the funny bribery induced faces as I try to figure this new camera out. But sometimes I open up a shot and still marvel.

They don't smother with affection all the time. And sometimes she's not even scared. It must be hard to be so loved.

Take one whiny little girl, add a new mama made headband and one very mismatched outfit that didn't have to be changed. Mix cookie dough, eat, repeat then bake. And you get this. One happy posie girl.

JuJu loves the birdy bedding her Mimi made for her.
It's so cozy she fell asleep right away, even as I was blinding her with my flash. Of course that's not saying a whole lot since she really will sleep anywhere - the other day at the lake beach, she slept in Nathans arms for a good 30 minutes - while Nate was actually in the water. Seriously, she was like half submerged with wailing kids all around her. Amazing.
So I was supposed to be taking pictures to share of the cuteness that is her room but when I pulled these up on the computer I realized something. I got a wee bit distracted by the cuteness inside the crib and didn't actually get much of her bedding and room.

Famous Girlies

When we were living in the Little Yellow House, I had the opportunity to hang out with some wonderful women in Chattanooga through the area API group(a support group for Attachment Parenting International). I did a session for one of them and she ended up giving my name to some people who were writing a parenting book. That book was recently published and since I had no idea what images they were going to use I was so tickeled while flipping through the book to find a picture of the girls! I just put that one in because, well, I'm a Mom. It wasn't really what they were asking for but it's one of my favorite pictures of them. I've got several other images in the book but I'm of course most excited about my girls.

lately we've...

been enjoying the heat,
finding some comfort
and whining a lot!
But we're good, just didn't want you to think we were gone for good.

She doesn't like this house, it's "scary and the yard is hot and it has bugs". Really? Cause I remember those acres we left being pretty darn buggy. I know what she means though. There will never be another yard as wonderful as the one we left, you just can't replace the shade 100 year old pecan trees or the freedom of a field out in the country. It was magical and we've definitely been mourning. I realized just how much the other day as we all hung out after Nate got home. It's the first time in over six months that I've actually sat on a blanket in the yard while they played and not been detached and separated by the concrete. It was nice. And while the neighbors doing yard work was highly annoying I was able to ignore it and enjoy just watching my girls. And it sure beats the card board box we could be living in soon. He hee. Should I even joke about that? Probably poor taste but we have to laugh about it, right?

Seriously though, I've got like 300 pictures I need to go through. From R's bday to Amy's visit and Nates bday but none are as fun my smiley girl. Well, maybe Eamon in a tutu or Daddy and Evie riding their scooters together or Rosie twirling in the grass .... I just need to stop moping around!

I really hope you're not tired of baby Jules pictures yet. Because well, I don't know that I'm ever going to get tired of capturing this sweet baby girl. Nathan and I had just alone this weekend and it was such a treat to bask in just babyness and not have our usual circus going.
We tried so hard to capture a smile but she just doesn't like it when i have the camera in my face, I still love these though!
